Doghouse.PH Joins Animal Assisted Services International as an Associate Member
Doghouse.PH has joined Animal Assisted Services International as an Associate Member, marking a step toward stronger standards for ethical, wellness-centered work with animals in the Philippines.
Doghouse.PH is now an Associate Member of Animal Assisted Services International (AASI), a global nonprofit association supporting the development of responsible, ethical, and standards-based animal-assisted services.
This marks an important step for Doghouse.PH as it continues helping build the Philippines' emerging ecosystem for wellness with animals, spanning corporate wellness programs, community experiences, retreats, and future certification initiatives.
For Doghouse.PH, this is not simply about creating more "pet-friendly" spaces or events. It is about helping raise the standard for how animals are integrated into human wellbeing: safely, ethically, and with clear attention to both human and animal welfare.
As an AASI Associate Member, Doghouse.PH gains access to a global community of practitioners, organizations, and professionals working across animal-assisted services, including animal-assisted activities, education, therapy, and support programs.
“There is a lot of love for animals in the Philippines, but there is still a clear gap when it comes to standards, structure, safety, and responsible implementation,” said Michael Sampaga, Founder & President of Doghouse.PH. “This membership helps align Doghouse.PH with a broader international movement committed to doing this work properly.”
Doghouse.PH will continue developing programs that bring humans and animals together through structured wellness experiences, while advocating for stronger standards in animal-inclusive spaces and services.
