After months of discussions and several automatic rejections, we finally received approval to bring a therapy dog into one of the most risk-conscious organizations I know. Myra J. definitely gets utmost recognition for helping me push boundaries to make it possible.
We built this initiative with the same rigor applied to any corporate project: structured risk reviews, compliance checks, and clear governance through Doghouse.PH to ensure employee and animal well-being.
The feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Sometimes, all it takes is a few minutes with a calm, gentle presence to make the day a little lighter. Inital results show 95+.% of participants recommended future visits, and 56% of employees expressed a preference for weekly sessions.
These results demonstrate that the therapy dog program is an effective, accessible, and impactfulwellness initiative, directly contributing to increased employee morale and anticipated productivity throughout the organization.
What stood out to me was how thoughtful people were toward Akiko. Many asked if she gets tired or stressed, and how we make sure she’s okay. It was good to see that awareness — that therapy dogs aren’t just there for humans, but are living, feeling beings who deserve the same care they give.
It was also a meaningful “homecoming” of sorts. I started my early corporate career here and left in 2014. Seeing former colleagues, mentors, and friends thriving reminded me how much this place shaped my own path.
Shall we do Wellness, With Animals at your corporate office next?
